Hi Sarah,
This trip sounds lovely. There are a lot of trains from Frankfurt-airport to Mainz also in the evening. You can check the train times at www.bahn.de in advance. For the next days I would suggest the following: Take a train from Mainz to Rüdesheim (which is also very recommendable) or St. Goar. Stay overnight. For the boat trip on the Rhine, check the times and ships of the Köln-Düsseldorfer at www.k-d.com. Stay overnight at Koblenz if you want to continue with the Köln-Düsseldorfer ship which leaves in the morning to Cochem. Or take the train from Koblenz to Cochem. Overnight-stay at Cochem. Take the train back to Koblenz where you change for one of the regional trains along the Rhine with stop at Bacharach.
You can also send us an email to info@romantic-germany.info for further questions.
Have a great trip! Ute

Hi
My partner and I are planning to travel to germany in early sept. we will be flying into Frankfurt and land approx 6:30pm ..would it be poss to get a train to Mainz to stay for that night at that time of evening? We are then hoping to head up the Rhine via a night in St Goar, to Cochem to spend 2 nights then a night in Bacharach on the way back to Frankfurt. Any suggestions would be most welcome! to Cochem via boat on rhine is the idea. Thank you
Sarah from New Zealand :)

Dear Alan,
Thank you very much for your request. As a first tip I would recommend you the Premicon Queen, the extraordinary five-star-ship. You will find more English information here www.premicon-queen.com. I will write you an email with further tips and information.
Best regards, Ute

Hello,
My wife and I would like to take a Rhein river cruise of about 5 days in June of next year taking in the most scenic, historic and interesting stretch of the Rhein. We have been to Bavaria and the Black Forest on previous holidays before and loved the little villiages, Ludwig's castles, German folk music and good old German bier.
Our daughter and her family are moving from the UK to live in Bonn in 2 months time.
We wish to travel independently from UK to Germany, have the cruise, travel on by train or bus to Bonn and stay with our daughter in Bonn and then return independently back to the UK.
Can you please recommend the best cruise for us.
Thank you.

Dear Alice,
Thank you very much for your interest in our region. There are directly coming two hotels in my mind: The Hotel Pinger at Remagen in the Rhine Valley and Schloss-Hotel-Petry at Treis-Karden in the Moselle Valley. Both hotels are situated close to the train station and offer festive Christmas packages as well as a lift. I will send you an email with more detailed information.
With best regards, Ute from the Rhineland-Palatinate tourist board

I would very much like information on short break holidays including Christmas 2009.I would prefer to travel by Eurostar and train than flight.Could you please recomend hotels with packages and with lifts and easy access to the train station, and if christmas 2009 not too expensive, also xmas markets. I have limited moblity hence a lift in a hotel of guest house.A German all inclusive Christmas house party would also be acceptable.RSVP
