Dear Mitra,
As Koblenz is not that large, you can discover the city centre and its attractions easily by foot. Walk down Löhrstraße shopping area to the old town where you should take your time to sit down in one of the numerous cafes. Stroll over the numerous places and through the little streets that shape the old town. From here it is not far to Deutsches Eck where the Moselle river meets the Rhine. Take the cable car up to Ehrenbreitstein fortress. Please be prepared that there are several construction sites in the city due to the upcoming Federal Garden Show in 2011. Probably this large event is a reason for coming back to Koblenz again next year.
Best wishes,
Ute

Dear Caroline,
Thank you for contacting us! I would recommend you to choose one of our Rheinsteig packages, which you will find here http://www.romantic-germany.info/rheinsteig-accommodation-_1924.0.html. Luggage transfer is already included. The Rheinsteig is a very impressive walking trail leading you through the romantic Rhine valley, directly to the castles.
If you have further questions you can also reach us via info@romantic-germany.info.
Best regards, Ute

Hi Tj,
Thanks for your interest in our region. I can propose you the following hotels in the Rhine valley, offering a special atmosphere: The Schloss Villa Rheinfels is also a castle hotel situated high above St. Goar, www.schloss-rheinfels.de. At Oberwesel I can recommend you the Weinhaus Weiler, situated in a beautiful half-timbered building at the marketplace, www.weinhaus-weiler.de. At Braubach is situated the country hotel "Zum Weißen Schwanen" with an old mill and an exquisite restaurant, www.zum-weissen-schwanen.de. Have a great trip!

Hi Ute.

love the site, some great ideas. I am travelling to the region at the end of May and was thinking of proposing to my partner. Unfortunately the Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg, which looks amazing, is full. Can you suggest anything you think is of a similar standard, this place seemed to have a great view and the added bouns of being a castle. Any ideas welcome.
Thanks
Tj

Hi Sarah,
This trip sounds lovely. There are a lot of trains from Frankfurt-airport to Mainz also in the evening. You can check the train times at www.bahn.de in advance. For the next days I would suggest the following: Take a train from Mainz to Rüdesheim (which is also very recommendable) or St. Goar. Stay overnight. For the boat trip on the Rhine, check the times and ships of the Köln-Düsseldorfer at www.k-d.com. Stay overnight at Koblenz if you want to continue with the Köln-Düsseldorfer ship which leaves in the morning to Cochem. Or take the train from Koblenz to Cochem. Overnight-stay at Cochem. Take the train back to Koblenz where you change for one of the regional trains along the Rhine with stop at Bacharach.
You can also send us an email to info@romantic-germany.info for further questions.
Have a great trip! Ute

Hi
My partner and I are planning to travel to germany in early sept. we will be flying into Frankfurt and land approx 6:30pm ..would it be poss to get a train to Mainz to stay for that night at that time of evening? We are then hoping to head up the Rhine via a night in St Goar, to Cochem to spend 2 nights then a night in Bacharach on the way back to Frankfurt. Any suggestions would be most welcome! to Cochem via boat on rhine is the idea. Thank you
