Profile: The Moselsteig

On both sides of the moselle river, the Moselsteig trail leads its way through the wineyards from Perl to Koblenz, where the river enters the Rhine.

Your way to experience more

The new Moselsteig Trail is a stunning 375 km-long hiking route, inaugurated in spring 2014, which explores both the left and right banks of the Moselle. The Moselsteig Trail takes you to the most beautiful viewpoints, nature experiences and sights in this richly historical region. In 24 stages, the route goes from Perl on the Upper Moselle near the German-French border to Koblenz.

Hikers on the Moselsteig Trail can enjoy panoramic views of the picturesque river landscape, paths through steep vineyards and orchards, historic wine-growing villages and fascinating towns. Planned in accordance with the criteria of the "Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland" hiking association, the Moselsteig Trail - like the other long-distance hiking routes in Rhineland-Palatinate - uses a selected, carefully waymarked route.
