There are nine regions in Rhineland-Palatinate, river valleys and low mountain range areas, waiting to be explored. All offering wonderful tours whether you're walking, cycling or just having a picnic - imaginative routes to geological wonders, natural treasures, archaeological highlights and pleasant places to stop.
Wanderlust is the slogan used to promote the numerous and outstanding long-distance walking trails in Rhineland-Palatinate. One of these, the Rheinsteig, takes you through vineyards up to historic castles and through shady forests and picturesque villages, with new spectacular views round every corner. Other quality-certified routes include the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, the Westerwald-Steig, the Eifelsteig and the Soonwaldsteig.
Rhineland-Palatinate is also an excellent cycling region with a wide variety of well-signposted routes. Enjoy relaxing bike rides along rivers and disused railway tracks, then stop for a break at one of the traditional wine taverns. Higher fitness levels are required for the hilly areas, where you will also find challenging mountain bike trails.

As a first idea I would suggest the following wildlife parks:
- Hochwildschutzpark Hunsrück at Rheinböllen
- Adler- und Wolfspark Kasselburg in the Eifel region
- Kurpfalz-Park at Wachenheim in the Pfalz region
I will send you an email with more detailed information.
