Cycling in the Lahn valley

The Lahn River is one of the most natural rivers in Germany. It winds its way from its source to the estuary in the Rhine River across landscapes that have remained for the most part untouched. Cycle tourists encounter multi-faceted landscapes with forested slopes, large meadows and rolling hills. By the way: The Lahn Cycle Route ranks among the top-ten most popular long-distance cycle routes in Germany (ADFC Radreiseanalyse 2010).

Lahn Cycle Route

The Lahn Cycle Route with its 245 kilometres between the spring and estuary of the river, follows the water‘s flow closely, with quite a few narrow passages by the river‘s banks. The Lahn River Valley is a relatively small river landscape, characterised by its beautiful nature, watery meadows, wooded hills and cozy timber-framed villages. The Lahn Cycle Route is perfect for family outings with children, as the route slopes gently and far away from the busy streets.
