Named after the well-known "Doctor" wine from Bernkastel-Kues, the Doctor-Weinstube hotel and restaurant (3-star superior) is steeped in history yet offers modern luxury.
The building was commissioned in 1668 as a tithe house by Carl Caspar von der Leyen, Elector of Trier. It was converted into a tavern in 1830 and extended in 1974 when it became a hotel.
The restaurant serves regional specialities such as pan-fried dishes and Moselle pike-perch, accompanied by fine wines from top vineyards such as "Bernkasteler Doctor" or "Wehlener Sonnenuhr".
Although the hotel is situated in the centre of the picturesque old quarter of Bernkastel-Kues, it is close to all amenities, with Frankfurt-Hahn airport and the train station in Wittlich in easy reach. Large family suites sleeping up to five people are available. The hotel has private parking for guests arriving by car.
