Perfect with a glass of wine to reward yourself after work or as a small savoury dessert. The combination of goat’s cheese and fig mustard which caramelizes in the oven tastes sensational. Baking the goat’s cheese produces a very nice creamy consistency. Serve with an acidic Riesling, from the Moselle, for example. The acid complements the sweetness and sharpness of the fig mustard perfectly.
Cut the goat’s cheese Camembert into slices. Cut circles out of the toasted bread. Place the Camembert on the toast and spread the fig mustard on top. Place in the oven for a few minutes until it browns.
Tip: The warm Camembert can also be served on a salad instead of bread.
