Bürgerturm Meisenheim | Meisenheim

The citizen tower is part of the early 14th century.

The second floor of the tower served as a place of defence. It was also used for prison purposes concerning people who didn`t pay their debts or weren`t able to offer surety.

Until the end of the 17th century there had been a round tower construction in front of the main citizen tower.
