Koblenzer Weihnachtsmarkt | Koblenz

One city - seven squares - hundreds of highlights: The Koblenz Christmas Market is one of the largest and most varied in Rhineland-Palatinate.

From rustic wooden houses it smells of gingerbread, evening choir concerts spread a pre-Christmas atmosphere, the arts and crafts market invites you to browse for gifts and handmade unique pieces. Children's cinema, ice-skating and Christmas trees decorated by children from Koblenz will also make the eyes of little guests shine.

You can stroll through the festively decorated Old Town from one favourite place to the next in complete relaxation. You can decide where you want to stay according to your mood. A special sight are the colourfully illuminated dormers of the baroque town hall - together they form the largest Advent calendar of the city. From 01 to 22 December, the half-hour concerts of the "Ringing Advent Calendar" enrich the Christmas market every day in the inner courtyard of the town hall.

In the large barn at Münzplatz you meet with friends, locals and visitors gather under the roof of the large wooden pyramid. Live music sounds, the atmosphere is great. In front of the glass facade of the Forum Confluentes, an ice rink invites you to ice skate. Do you need a souvenir for those who stayed at home? The gift shop at the Tourist Information awaits you with Christmas treats and regional delicacies.

The Christmas market takes place on the following streets and squares: Münzplatz, Am Plan, Jesuitenplatz, Willi-Hörter-Platz, Vorplatz Liebfrauenkirche, Zentralplatz and Josef-Görres-Platz (Star Market).

The Christmas market is closed on the Sunday of the dead.

For the perfect day in Koblenz a side trip to the Deutsches Eck and from there by cable car up to the cultural centre Festung Ehrenbreitstein is a must. After a walk through the fortress, a lantern tour with the whole family or a visit to the numerous exhibitions, you can enjoy the view downwards, where the gentle waves of the Rhine sparkle in competition with the lights of the city. 2000 years of city history at your feet!
