Lahnstein · Romantischer Rhein
Overlooking the point at which the Lahn joins the Rhine is Lahneck Castle which was built about1244. With its combination of medieval architecture and 19th century neo-gothic additions, it is a classic example of the castles of Rhine Romanticism.
The interior with its chapel, great hall, valuable paintings and furniture is particularly worth seeing. The castle is privately owned.
