The Catholic Church of St. Antonius v. Padua
Appointed by Louis XIV in 1680, the Franciscans of Cologne decided to found a monastery in Meisenheim. In 1685 the foundation stone was laid and in 1688 the church was consecrated in honour of the patron saint St. Antonius of Padua. The Church was constructed according to the plans of Franz Matthias Heyliger and it was provided with a roof turret. Later, in 1902, a tower in baroque style was added.
