Narrow-Gauge Railway Museum at Bockenau
situated at the southern access to the village in Waldböckelheimer Straße
On 22nd July 1896 the first train ride took place with a special opening ceremony. With great enthusiasm and much delight the inhabitants of the neighbouring villages welcomed the train running from Winterburg to Bad Kreuznach.
During the age of inflation in 1922/23 it was extremely hard to maintain the train service. Due to the decrease in the number of passengers and in the volume of cargo a deficit caused the closing down of the train service on 31st July 1936.
The narrow-gauge railway museum is under the open sky. Visitors can visit and get on two Krauss-Maffai narrow-gauge steam engines, restored waggons, a waiting hall and a large signal post from that time.
