Schweppenhausen lies about 15 kilometres to the north of Bad Kreuznach and 11 kilometres southeast from Bingen in the lower guilder brook valley. The guilder brook is an extremely gefällreiches body of water - favorable conditions for the mill company. Still in the 19-th century there were in the guilder brook valley of the spring up to mouth more than 40 mills, of it only eight on the small Schweppenhäusener district. One is of it a former oil mill which threatened to go to ruin in the 70s. Heinrich Zimmermann bought them, invested a lot of time and money and put mill and residential building after years again in state. Today one can visit Mühlrad and Mühlstein as well as the property and rent the adjoining restored rooms.
