The village of Mörsdorf is more than 900 years old. Coming from the Mosel, it is located on Hunsrück's sparsely settled first mountain range (Rhein slate) at an altitude of 350 m above sea level. The village is bordered by three deep, thickly forested valleys with brooks, which are ideal for hiking. There are working farms on the heights in the direction of Kastellaun. The small road between Kastellaun (Hunsrück) and Treis-Karden (Mosel) has little traffic and does not pass trough the town.
In the year 2015 Mörsdorf inaugurated the "Geierlay", germans longest suspencion bridge with a lenght of 360 m. Look here: www.geierlay.de
